The name Artiglio evokes the Viareggio divers and their enterprises...
...they were simple, modest people who, as somebody has written, through their deeds rendered boldness, work, genius, poetry eternal.
With the creation of this Award the Viareggio Versilia Rotary Club,
intends to remember them, while looking to the future.

Other divers from Viareggio are ready to pursue the enterprise just begun by the first Artiglio. Thus the Artiglio II, carrying on board the divers Fortunato Sodini, Giovanni Lenci, Fortunato Mancini and Mario Raffaelli, is born.
