The jury of the International Artiglio Award, composed by:

in accordance with the Award statute decided to confer the International Artiglio Award to COMSUBIN, School of divers of the Italian Navy and of the other Italian Armed Forces, with the following motivation:

"From the time it was founded in Genoa on July 24, 1849, COMSUBIN made a crucial and continuous contribution to the training of Italian civil and military deep sea divers and frogmen, considered to be among the best in the world. The men trained in this Institution have worked in Italy and in all parts of the world in innumerable underwater activities, and have enjoyed unconditional admiration for their exceptional professional qualities. For the Artiglio divers, heirs of the glorious Viareggio seamanship, the traditions of this School, where they received their training, constituted a precious professional and spiritual heritage. Their legendary deeds, which for the more recent generations are a brilliant example of courage, skill and extreme sense of duty, bear witness to the great values expounded by the School".
